How to get 6 Pack Abs
So you want to know how to get 6 pack abs. For most people this
ideal of what we want our abdominal muscles to look like is not usually the
reality. There is a process almost all of us have to follow in order to achieve
a hard-ripped stomach. There are a few people who are just genetically lucky,
but they are not the norm. Most of us have to work for those chiseled abs and
many times the effort becomes more than we want to put ourselves through.
If you truly want to develop a set of 6 pack abs then there are a few steps you
will need to follow in order to make that wish a reality.
If you are at all active and exercise on a regular basis then chances are you
already have a set of pretty nice abdominal muscles. The problem is why can’t
you see them? For the vast majority of us our body fat content is high enough
that our nearly fabulous abs are covered by a layer of fat. We can do sit-ups
and crunches for an eternity and our abs still don’t come shining through. To
get that cut 6 pack look you have to lose the excess body fat.
To get rid of that excess fatty baggage you have to do two things.
1. Exercise – There are two main types of exercise one must do to bring forth
the hidden 6 pack. Cardio/aerobic and resistance exercises. The cardio/aerobic
helps burn excess fat from the prolonged duration of constant movement. It also
strengthens the heart and lungs which allows you to exercise for longer periods
of time as well as boosting your base metabolism rate which burns fat while the
body is at rest. Resistance exercise builds the major muscle groups and
strengthens the body as a whole. Stronger, bigger muscle burns fat faster. Your
resistance exercises should include core strengthening exercises. This includes
your abs, obliques and lower back.
2. Diet – All the exercise in the world will only go so far if your diet is not
healthy and nutritious. If you feed your body well it will respond by getting
stronger and burning the excess fat more quickly. Fruits and vegetable are your
friends when it comes to fat loss but it is also important that you eat lean
cuts of meat because your body needs the protein to help build muscle during and
after your workouts.
Getting a set of 6 pack abs is about the effort you put into attaining your
goal. Having them denotes a healthy strong body and there are no shortcuts to
getting that type of physique.
